Eurovision 2022: Conosciamo meglio i Citi Zēni - Lettonia

Uno dei paesi partecipanti alla prossima edizione dell'Eurovision Song Contest che si terrà a Torino dal 10 al 14 maggio è la Lettonia. Il paese è alla sua ventiduesima partecipazione alla manifestazione canora.
Alla sessantaseiesima edizione dell'Eurovision Song Contest, la Lettonia sarà rappresentata dai Citi Zēni con la canzone "Eat Your Salad". Il gruppo si esibirà nella prima metà della prima semifinale di Eurovision 2022 il 10 maggio.
"Eat Your Salad" è composta da Jānis Jačmenkins insieme a tre membri della band: Roberts Memmēns, Jānis Pēterson e Dagnis Roziņš. Il titolo della canzone non lascia dubbi all'ascoltatore: optare per una vita in puro stile vegetariano.
BIOGRAFIA
I Citi Zēni sono una band formata da sei elementi: Jānis Pēterson (voce), Dagnis Roziņš (sassofono), Reinis Višķeris (tastiere), Krišjānis Ozols (chitarra), Roberts Memmēns (basso) e Toms Kagainis (batteria). Autoproclamatisi "principi del rap e dive pop del 21° secolo", il gruppo si è formato nel marzo 2020 a Riga. L'obiettivo principale dei sei artisti è quello di scrivere canzoni che incoraggino la riflessione aggiungendo tocchi di satira ai testi.
Nel 2021 hanno pubblicato il loro album di debutto "Suņi Iziet Ielās", con brani interamente in lingua lettone. L'album è stato un clamoroso successo nel paese ottenendo tre nomination allo Zelta Mikrofonos, il principale premio musicale in Lettonia. "Eat Your Salad" brano che sarà presentato all'Eurovision Song Contest 2022 è il primo singolo estratto dal loro album.
